Teacher Note: You may need to take time prior to the activity to plan a field experience to a wooded area, prairie,
or other unmowed area for students to take a nature walk. You can also explore an outdoor section of your
schoolyard. Explore the area ahead of time to make sure there are plants with seeds students can observe. If a field experience is not possible and you do not have a big collection of seeds from Lesson 1C, contact your local conservation educator for information on how to receive native seeds to prepare 2 or more trays of seeds for your class.
