Nature Unfolds includes a student book titled See How the Turkey Grows, a science notebook, and teacher guide. Together they help K-2 students learn about life cycles, basic needs of plants and animals, and seasons and weather.

Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) has dozens of interdisciplinary activities. You will learn how to use these hands-on activities to include in classroom or non‐formal teaching.

Project Aquatic WILD gives educators active educational lessons about aquatic wildlife and habitats to incorporate into your curriculum.

This workshop will cover Project Aquatic WILD and Project WET. You will receive training for both and the books for each. Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn both of these resources in one class.

Join MDC staff for a three day adventure as we explore the aquatic ecosystems of Missouri. Be part of several survey opportunities such as electroshocking fish, sampling macro-invertebrates in different aquatic ecosystems, and learn the importance of lake stratification and turn over through hands-on methods! Educators will participate in lessons that can be integrated into their own classrooms. Two hours of graduate credit is available through Lindenwood University for $150. Limited seats available. The Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program provides new and interesting curriculum that incorporates hands-on outdoor activities featuring Missouri ecosystems. Teaching students outside has been shown to help improve test scores and help with behavior issues. Each unit comes with excellent teacher and student guides. Nature Unfolds is designed for K-2nd grade educators. The curriculum has been aligned with both the Missouri Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.

Come to this workshop to receive training in Project Learning Tree [PLT], a nationally acclaimed environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators. Missouri’s PLT contains over 90 interdisciplinary, educator- tested activities. The workshop will consist of hands on instruction in conducting the PLT's activities. A variety of supplies and materials will be provided to assist in your teaching.

The Missouri Department of Conservation's Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program includes science units that utilize a student-centered and hands-on approach to learning about Missouri's ecosystems. This workshop will cover the Nature Unfolds Instructional Unit for grades K-2, and the Nature Unleashed Instructional Unit for grades 3-5. These units are correlated to both the Missouri Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards and are designed to meet teachers' curricular goals and objectives.
