Nature Unbound includes a student book, science notebook, and teacher guide, to help high school students understand the impact of ecology on Missouri and the world.

This on-site, immersive workshop is being held at Wah’Kon-Tah Prairie Conservation Area, an MDC priority geography. MDC works with private landowners and other conservation entities in those geographies to protect and restore functioning native grasslands and stream watersheds.

The Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program, Nature Unbound, is a curriculum of 9 lessons designed for 9th-12th grade students with engaging, hands-on outdoor learning that focuses on wildlife management, ecology, adaptations, populations, interactions, and biodiversity. The curriculum supports Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) in science, particularly life science.  Summative assessments follow each unit.
