Insects are over 90% of all life on earth! Join us to learn more about the fascinating lives of these wee beasties! In this workshop, you will learn about common insects of Missouri and be able to ask all your burning questions about insects and their kin!
You will learn how to collect and preserve insects and will make and take home some basic insect collecting equipment. Insects are ubiquitous and provide many teachable moments – indoors and outdoors. They are a fantastic way to provide hands-on, inquiry based learning opportunities for students!

The Discover Nature (DNS) program includes engaging and hands-on outdoor learning featuring Missouri’s flora, fauna and ecosystems. This workshop for Nature Revealed helps you share nature with young preschool children, make discovery fun and stimulate children’s natural sense of wonder.
Nature Revealed is full of developmentally appropriate learning experiences keyed to specific leaning centers. All activities and ideas are developed to meet Missouri’s Project Construct and Missouri Early Learning Goals
The Missouri Department of Conservation's Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program includes science units that utilize a student-centered and hands-on approach to learning about Missouri's ecosystems. This workshop will cover the Nature Revealed Instructional Unit for pre-school aged learners. The Nature Revealed unit introduces our young learners to the out of doors and is based on the Missouri Early Learning Goals and Project Construct frameworks.
