Nature Unhooked includes a student book, science notebook, and teacher guide to help middle-school students learn about the role of water in an ecosystem.

**This is a virtual training for Southeast Missouri Teachers. This training is limited to the following counties since supplies and materials will be hand delivered to the school district/building approximately 1 week before the virtual training date. Counties: Bollinger, Butler, Dunklin, Stoddard, Wayne, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, Saint Francois, Iron, Madison, Cape Girardeau, Scott, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot.

This training will certify teachers in the unhooked unit, allowing access to materials, supplies, and grants.

This workshop is to certify middle school teachers in the aquatic curriculum (Nature Unhooked)

Nature Unhooked provides educators instruction for teaching students about Missouri's aquatic ecosystems, food webs, fishing, macro invertebrate collection and more. A teacher guide with detailed lesson plans aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards, a student book, and a student science notebook will be provided at no cost.

This is a program for 6th-8th grade teachers. This hands-on, inquiry-based teacher workshop will be an engaging foundation for the Nature Unhooked lessons. The materials are aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. We will discover the local aquatic life and their importance to people and natural communities.

The Discover Nature School (DNS) program, Nature Unhooked, is for 6th-8th grade teachers. It includes engaging, hands-on outdoor learning that focuses on water properties and Missouri ecosystems. It has already been correlated to both the Missouri Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards and are designed to work with teachers' needs and existing curriculums.

Nature Unhooked is a middle school aquatic unit of the Discover Nature Schools program and is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. Emphasis of this unit is on student-centered and collaborative investigations of the properties of water, water cycle, biotic energy flow, biodiversity, and human impacts on aquatic ecosystems. A Project Based Learning component is also included in this unit. This workshop will cover lessons and activities from the unit as well as an outdoor, experiential approach to student learning. All materials will be provided.

Blaine Martin in Unhooked

This workshop will cover details about the Forest Park Hatchery Ponds specifically for use as a Field Experience destination in connection to implementation of the DNS Nature Unhooked Unit. Tour of the area and facilities and ;recommendations for student aquatic study station locations for rotations will be covered.
