Nature Revealed includes a teacher guide and cut-out images and puzzles to give Pre-K teachers and parents the planning tools, activities and resources to stimulate children's natural sense of wonder in nearby nature.

Nature Revealed is the pre-kindergarten instructional unit in the Discover Nature Schools series from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

This is a professional development workshop. It consists of a presentation to introduce important facets of the unit:

We held a Nature Revealed for KC Pre K schools at the Anita B Gorman.  

Nature Revealed:
This Discover Nature School (DNS) program, Nature Revealed, is for preschool students. It includes engaging, hands-on outdoor learning that focuses on Missouri’s flora, fauna, and ecosystems. It encourages discovery and a child’s natural sense of wonder. It has already been correlated to both the Missouri Project Construct and the Missouri Early Learning Goals and is designed to work with teacher's needs provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

This is a virtual professional development workshop. It consists of a 90 minute presentation to introduce important facets of the DNS Nature Revealed unit: Organization of the teacher guide including cross-referenced appendices, best practices in leading nature experiences in early childhood, connections to learning goals, seasonal arrangement of experiences, construction and use of developmentally appropriate science notebooks, and prep and use of manipulatives including puzzles and story board characters.

Met with Carla Leddbetter and 2 other teachers to discuss butterfly garden.

Participants will learn how to plant a pollinator garden. Be prepared to get dirty. We will be planting. 

Bat week is Coming!

Bat Week (October 24-31) is an international, annual celebration to raise awareness about the need for bat conservation.

Did you know about 14 species of bats call Missouri home? Learn about the importance of bats, their biology and ecology, activities you can do in your classroom and additional resources you can use to study bats and prepare to celebrate bat week in your classroom.
