This course will focus on various Missouri’s aquatic habitats, including lakes, wetlands and ponds, as well as the biodiversity living within each ecosystem. It will provide field experiences and hands-on activities that can be used in classroom curriculum strategies. This workshop also includes an introduction to the 5E Model, with the majority of lessons aligned to each strategy of engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate. The purpose is for participants to fully integrate themselves into this teaching method through lesson exploration and review, so that each participants will create a 5E aquatics based lesson to be submitted at the conclusion of the workshop.
