Nature Revealed

Nature Revealed is the pre-kindergarten instructional unit in the Discover Nature Schools series from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Hands-on experiences in nature help Missouri's children become conservationists for life. The core of Nature Revealed is a rich, diverse collection of developmentally appropriate learning experiences keyed to specific learning centers that will help young learners discover the connections between nature and everyday living. The activities are arranged by season and may be conducted in their entirety or coordinated with another curriculum. Nature Revealed contains a wealth of ideas and information to empower educators to lead nature activities with confidence, knowledge and skill. Development and implementation of the activities is centered on Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Project Construct goals and Missouri Early Learning Goals. During the three-hour Nature Revealed workshop, educators will participate in a selection of fun and engaging activities. They will gain information and insight through discussion of select chapters and cross-referenced appendices. We will also discuss specific methods to use Nature Revealed to meet the goals and objectives of the participants' early childhood centers. Attendance in a three-hour Nature Revealed workshop is required by the Missouri Department of Conservation for educators to receive the free, 375-page, full-color Nature Revealed instructional materials.
