Nature Unhooked certification training
Nature Unhooked helps middle school students understand, appreciate, and conserve Missouri’s waters. Students continue their knowledge about ecosystems from the Nature Unleashed unit by learning what constitutes ecological “health” and how it can be measured or observed. Each chapter has different activities that help students understand ecological concepts through direct contact with the natural world. After an introduction to the chapter, students explore the main ideas through hands-on demonstrations, videos, or games that model concepts. At the end of every chapter, students use the chapter’s concepts and record data observations in their scientific notebooks. Students connect lessons about aquatic ecosystems and how natural processes and human actions affect the nature around them.
This class provides the training required to apply for the grant associated with the unit. We will meet on two consecutive afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30 pm each day.
