Missouri Ecology
Learn ways to help your students discover Missouri ecology in this one-day teacher workshop at Caldwell Memorial Wildlife Area in Washington, Missouri. The typically two-day workshop will be condensed into a one-day, extended training covering our Nature Unleashed (designed for 3rd grade to 5th grade students) and Nature Unhooked (designed for 6th grade to 8th grade students) units. During the workshop, teachers will become familiar with Missouri’s prairie, forest and aquatic ecosystems through hands-on, outdoor activities. You’ll become acquainted with our free Discover Nature Schools program, teacher guides, student books, and science notebooks as well as learn about our noncompetitive grant opportunities for classroom materials and field experiences.
Participants should bring their own lunch and appropriate clothing for the weather, as we will be going outside.
Be sure to request your free Nature Unleashed and Nature Unhooked curriculum materials prior to the workshop using our Teacher Portal. To order by mail, visit our Teacher Portal homepage and click "DNS Order Form" to submit your request - allow 7-10 business days for arrival.
