DNS - Nature Unleashed and Nature Unfolds

Discover Nature Schools (DNS) is a hands-on science/conservation education program for K-12 Students. This workshop will cover the Nature Unleashed Pond, Prairie and Forest unit for grades 3-5, as well as the Nature Unfolds Instructional Unit for grades K-2.  Use of the teacher guides, engaging student books, and implementing field investigations that emphasize science practices correlated with current curriculum standards will be covered. Procedures for participation in the DNS grant program that provides funding for science equipment, outdoor classrooms and field experiences related to this unit will also be covered. Portions of this workshop will take place outdoors. Participants should dress for the weather and bring a sack lunch.
