Nature Unleashed

Teachers will investigate the unique habitats and life forms of George Washington Carver's childhood home, using the Missouri Dept of Conservation Discover Nature Schools curriculum.

The Nature Unleashed unit will be utilized and is ideal for third and fourth grade classrooms but can easily be adapted for other grade levels. This educator course will look at nature through today's lens and what George W. Carver would have witnessed in his childhood. All teacher materials will be provided. Missouri State Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards crosswalks will be available for K-4 grade teachers.

Teachers should bring a sack lunch and wear comfortable clothing for an outdoor learning experience. Field trip opportunities and possible funding will be discussed. Space is limited and educators are encouraged to contact Jeff for more information. Registration is required.
