Nature Unleashed

Is your classroom all virtual? Great! Hybrid? No problem! In-person? Easy-peesy. Help your students discover what's outside by collecting data and observations of our Missouri ecology of different ecosystems such as prairies, forests and ponds, food chain interactions within those different ecosystems, organism adaptations, and so much much more - either through virtual means or by in-person interactions. All of this is right at your fingertips with our Discover Nature Schools Unleashed Unit designed for 3rd grade to 5th grade students - free to all Missouri teachers. Be sure to download the Nature Unleashed PDF documents (Nature Unleashed Teacher Guide, Student Guide, Big Charts, and all posters) or order your free Nature Unleashed curriculum materials prior to the workshop using our Teacher Portal. To order by mail, visit our Teacher Portal homepage and click "DNS Order Form" to submit your request - allow 7-10 business days for arrival. Also, be sure to download the free SEEK app by iNaturalist prior to the workshop. Make sure you have your outdoor gear ready including outdoor shoes because we will be going outside for many activities! At the conclusion of the workshop, we will review the Nature Unleashed Grant which provides funding to all Missouri-accredited schools for classroom equipment and travel reimbursement for outdoor field experiences. A WebEx link will be provided prior to the workshop. Please make sure your computer has a camera and speaker capabilities as this will be an interactive teacher workshop and you will be asked to share outdoor observations, pictures, and any data collected. Preparation for a quiet space is recommended so you can fully interact and gain the most knowledge and skill out of this training.
