Discover Nature Schools (DNS) is a hands-on science/conservation education program for K-12 students. This work shop will take place over two sessions. The first session will be from 6:00-10:00pm on April 2nd. The second session will be on April 4th from 9:00-11:00am.
This workshop will cover the Nature Unleashed Pond, Prairie, and Forest unit for grades 3-5, including use of the teacher guide, engaging student books, and field investigations that emphasize science practices and are correlated with current standards. Procedures for participation in the DNS grant program that provides funding for science equipment, outdoor classrooms, field experiences related to this unit will also be covered. Attendance at both sessions is required for grant eligibility. Dress prepared for sections of this workshop which will take place outdoors.
