The Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program, Nature Unleashed, is a curriculum of 8 lessons designed for 3rd-5th grade students to promote understanding of Missouri habitats by exploring food chains and the roles of producers and consumers as well as specialized structures and biotic and abiotic factors. The curriculum supports Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) in science, particularly life science. The hands-on, inquiry-focused lessons provide outdoor learning opportunities where students can explore their own schoolyard. Summative assessments are provided for each unit.

Come explore science standards and hot and cold changes as we roast marshmallows around a fire pit and make s'mores!  Please dress in layers so you can adjust to varying weather and bring along any standards that you would like help enriching through hands-on, inquiry-based learning that focuses on Missouri's fish, forest, and wildlife resources.

This Discover Nature School (DNS) program, Nature Unfolds, is designed for Kindergarten through 2nd grade and includes 4 seasonal units that focus on seasonal changes, weather, lifecycles, and parent/offspring relationships. The curriculum supports Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) in science, particularly life science. The hands-on, inquiry-focused lessons provide outdoor learning opportunities where students can explore their own schoolyard.

Nature Unhooked is the middle school aquatic unit of the Discover Nature Schools program.  It is aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Nature Unhooked is student-centered and has collaborative investigations on the properties of water, water cycle, biotic energy flow, biodiversity, and human impacts on aquatic ecosystems. A Project Based Learning component is also included in this unit.

The Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program, Nature Unhooked, is a curriculum of 6 units designed for 6^th-8^th grade students with hands-on, outdoor learning that focuses on water properties and Missouri aquatic ecosystems including weathering and erosion, food chains, organism roles and interactions, as well as macroinvertebrate sampling, water quality testing, and water pollution engineering. The curriculum is aligned with Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) in science, including life, physical, earth and space, and engineering practices.
