Taney
This workshop is to train and certify Missouri teachers who want to teach the Hunter Education (HED) Course in their classrooms. This training is open to schoolteachers who teach in Barry, Christian, Stone, Taney, and Webster Counties. Missouri teachers from other counties may attend but must contact the Conservation Educator for their county and receive approval and/or complete an interview prior to the training. Discover Nature — Fishing (DNF) engages students in conservation and aquatic education through classroom instruction and hands-on fishing opportunities.
This program helps students gain the skills and confidence to go fishing on their own. Participants learn about aquatic ecology, fish habitat, and fish identification. They also learn about fishing equipment, casting, rigging a fishing rod, baiting a hook, and proper fish handling.
This Discover Nature School (DNS) program Second Grade: Life and Land in Missouri is designed specifically for Second Grade students. This curriculum is aligned to all Missouri Learning Science (MLS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) including the four components of Earth and Space Science, Physical Science, Life Science and Engineering and Technology Science.
