Take learning to new heights with this engaging, hands-on professional development workshop centered on Missouri’s birds and their habitats. Educators will explore practical, inquiry-based strategies that bring outdoor science to life while aligning with Discover Nature Schools (DNS) Second Grade: Life and Land in Missouri curriculum. 

Participants will: 

Join us for an engaging, hands-on professional development workshop focused on using insects to spark curiosity, scientific thinking, and outdoor exploration in first grade classrooms. Teachers will gain practical strategies for inquiry-based learning aligned with Discover Nature Schools (DNS) First Grade: Exploring Missouri curriculum. 

Participants will: 

This engaging professional development workshop equips educators with practical strategies for integrating nature-based art into their curriculum to support both creative learning and student well-being. 

Participants will explore how to use natural materials and outdoor environments as meaningful extensions of the classroom. Through hands-on experiences and lesson design time, teachers will learn how creating art with nature, in nature, and about nature can:

Meeting with FFA/Ag teachers from the Southeast Missouri Ag Teachers Association to discuss all the opportunities that MDC has to offer the Vo-Ag students and instructors. Topics to be covered are: DNS Unhooked, DNS Unbound, Discover Nature Fishing, Fishing Club Grant, Mo-NASP, and HED.

Certifications will not be available at this meeting. However, setting dates for certification trainings will be available.
