Nature Unbound includes a student book, science notebook, and teacher guide, to help high school students understand the impact of ecology on Missouri and the world.

The Discover Nature Schools (DNS) program, Nature Unbound, is a curriculum of 9 lessons designed for 9th-12th grade students with engaging, hands-on outdoor learning that focuses on wildlife management, ecology, adaptations, populations, interactions, and biodiversity. The curriculum supports Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) in science, particularly life science. Summative assessments follow each unit. The lessons culminate with a performance-based assessment for which students apply all knowledge and skills learned from the curriculum to create a Natural Resource Management Plan.

Our Nature Unbound instructional unit helps high school students understand the impact of ecology on Missouri and the world. It builds on knowledge students gained from previous biology classes. Most activities in this unit are designed to get students outdoors and exploring, investigating, and asking questions about immediate areas around their school.

This training is for high school teachers involved in science, ecology, and conservation education. We will discuss grant funding options for indoor and outdoor classrooms, equipment and supplies, as well as outdoor experiences away from your school.
