DNS Unit or MDC Program
DNS First Grade

Join us for an engaging, hands-on Teacher Tuesday Workshop focused on using insects to spark curiosity, scientific thinking, and outdoor exploration in first grade classrooms. Teachers will gain practical strategies for inquiry-based learning aligned with Discover Nature Schools (DNS) First Grade: Exploring Missouri curriculum.

Participants will:

  • Experience ready-to-use insect investigations and outdoor activities
  • Strengthen confidence teaching life science through real-world exploration
  • Connect learning to Missouri ecosystems and student field experiences
  • Become certified in DNS First Grade: Exploring Missouri

Upon completion, schools become eligible to apply for the DNS Transportation Reimbursement Grant, helping fund field experiences that bring classroom learning into the natural world.

Insects may be small — but the impact on student engagement is huge.

Graduate Credit may be available.
