Teacher Tuesday - Aim to Inspire: Becoming a NASP Basic Archery Instructor
This dynamic Teacher Tuesday Workshop is designed to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and certification needed to implement a safe and successful archery program in their schools through the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP).
During this comprehensive training, participants will:
- Earn certification as a Basic Archery Instructor (BAI)
- Learn NASP safety protocols, range setup, and equipment management
- Develop instructional strategies for teaching archery in a school setting
- Practice whistle commands, shooting form, and coaching techniques
- Gain confidence in leading students through structured archery lessons
The workshop goes beyond classroom instruction by providing immersive archery field experiences, including:
- 🎯 Target Shooting Sessions – Hands-on practice to refine shooting technique and scoring procedures
- 🦌 3D Archery Shoot Experience – Application of skills in a dynamic outdoor-style course featuring life-like 3D targets
Participants will leave with:
- Official NASP BAI certification
- Practical experience managing both indoor target ranges and 3D shooting environments
- Ready-to-use lesson planning tools
- Increased confidence in delivering engaging, standards-aligned archery instruction
- New MO-NASP schools will be eligible for grants to equip their school
- Existing NASP Schools that have been active for the last 5 consecutive years are eligible for a maintenance grant.
