This workshop will focus on tools that will help you introduce your students to next steps after the Hunter Education Program and/or Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program. First, we will cover the Missouri Department of Conservation’s new species-specific hunting booklets for squirrel, rabbit, turkey and deer. The instructor will guide participants through the booklets as well as introduce them to a series of educational trunks that contain tracks, calls, and other educational tools. These booklets can be ordered thru your local Outdoor Skills Specialist and the educational trunks can be checked out from the St. Louis Regional Office. Next, we will cover the Effective Wingshooting for the Hunter program. This is an important program that will assist hunters to be more successful with their harvest while shooting nontoxic shot. This comprehensive program will teach you how to pattern test your equipment and how to make better shots which reduces wounding and increases harvest rates.
