Christine Li MU - Nature Unleashed

This Discover Nature Unleashed workshop was for 22 students in Professor Christine Li's NR4024 "Foundations of Environmental Education" course. I provided opportunities for students from different backgrounds to learn about conservation education and the outreach they can participate in with their students. In the first session, I covered a brief introduction of myself and the MDC and DNS Education Programs. I also started teaching the Discover Nature Unleashed Curriculum. The second session, was a hands-on outdoor lesson with the Unleashed materials. Amber Edwards and myself created a field trip to Prairie Fork CA for the students to peer-to-peer teach and learn and from each other on outdoor lessons. Nature Unleashed helps elementary students understand ecosystem connections through exploring Missouri’s ponds, forests, and prairies inside and outside the classroom.
