Hunter Safety Education Instructor Training / Certification The training / certification is for 6th - high school educators seeking to introduce more outdoor skills to their curriculum while certifying their students in the Missouri Hunters Safety program. All educators attending and seeking HED instructor status must have completed the student portion and have a HED certification number. If you don’t but are interested in becoming a HED instructor, you can take the student portion online off our website mdc.mo.gov. It's not just about hunting and firearm operation and safety, it’s a great way to instruct students on different Missouri ecosystems, animal behavior, and animal adaptations, while incorporating wildlife management strategies and ethics. All registered participants will need to complete volunteer forms 1a and 1b before becoming fully certified. These forms will be emailed to registered participants closer to the training. Final thoughts -certifying students at the end of the school year once achievement testing is finished, is a great hands-on activity. In addition, your providing a lifetime certificate for your students!
