Take a walk with our native landscape specialists to see how they maintain native plantings in the late fall. (Adults) Do you enjoy wildlife in your backyard, but struggle with some animals getting a little too close for comfort? Learn some tips and suggestions on how to avoid or stop nuisance wildlife from taking over your home, and about some of the common entry points that they use. This in person program will also cover methods, materials, and gear used in home exclusion. Mount replicas will be on hand to show some of the different types of wildlife that most commonly cause issues.

Project Feeder Watch turns your love of feeding birds into scientific discoveries. Join us as we participate in this citizen scientist project. Your bird counts help the Cornell Lab track what is happening in your own backyard and helps track long-term trends in bird distribution and abundance. Birders of all ages and skill levels welcome. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair of ours.

Keep those spooky vibes alive with this skeleton-centered program investigating what we can learn from animal's bones. We'll focus on the characteristics of animal skulls and discover how variation in anatomy, including teeth, can reveal the identity of an animal. This class is offered for 0-3 year olds and their families. We will walk among the trees collecting different colored, sized, and shaped leaves. Will we find other signs of fall in the park? Come dressed for the weather. Meet at the Robert & Martha Gaddy Wild Bird Garden in Tower Grove Park. This is located at the Northwest corner of the park, across from the Stone Shelter.

In this virtual program, Naturalist Morgan Wyatt will discuss several common winter bird species, how to attract them, and how to participate in a special data-collecting study called Project Feeder Watch. This introductory program will teach the fundamentals of atlatl. Participants will learn about different types of atlatls and darts. The workshop will cover proper techniques including stance, grip, form, release and safety. Participants will then put their new skills to use with hands-on practice using atlatls and targets.
